Rattlers Douglas & Constance Shaw are celebrating 55 Years of Marriage!!!
Rattlers please help us in celebrating 55 years of marriage for Douglas McArthur Shaw & Constance Boone Shaw!! Yup. You heard us right. 55 Years! Here's some information on the couple:
Doug's home has always been the South Florida area, growing up in Florida City. Connie was born and raised in Tampa.
They met on 'The Hill' in the 60s and the rest is history! 55 years later they are the proud parents of 2 sons -- Douglas Adolphus Shaw a resident of McDonough Georgia who is a Certified Public Accountant, and Nakia McArthur Shaw, a resident of Atlanta Georgia who is a Pharmacist.
In 2006 the blessing of grandchildren began and didn't stop until 2010. Their grandchildren are:
- Douglas Alexander Shaw who is following their footsteps. He is currently a Freshman on The Hill.
- Aria Elizabeth Shaw, a Sophomore @ Midtown High School in Atlanta, GA
- Dylan Emanuel Shaw a Sophomore @ Woodland High School in Stockbridge, GA, and
- Nyla Gianna Shaw, an 8th Grader @ David T. Howard Middle School in Atlanta, GA
Don't think for a moment though that this list encompasses all of their loved ones. Between daughters-in-law (Kimberly Porter Shaw), siblings, cousins, friends, former co-workers and customers (Doug has a thriving fish and vegetable selling business), the list of people who love them is too long to include here. Suffice it to say that the community they have built in their 55 years of marriage is vast and they are blessed. Their long-lasting union is nothing short of an understanding of the commitment that went along with their 'I Dos' back on October 4,1969. They are an example for us all. Come on Rattlers!
